Speaker...
John Herrick -
Attorney
The Peripheral Canal Threat
Mr. Herrick represents the South Delta on water issues. Dams on the rivers feeding into the San Joaquin River release water but not enough to provide enough water to reach the ocean. Therefore the south delta river is often high in salt. Water quality standards are ignored, if met they would lose water in the North and Central Delta.
Water from the Sacramento River helps alleviate the Delta problem. Now they wish to send that water around the Delta.
The result will be higher salt content in the Delta which will eliminate the ability to grow crops and will ruin the fisheries and of course change the life and economy of our area.
John Herrick was introduced by Jerry Smith.

Club Announcements
| The Wheel editor suggests that persons email their announcements to gtweedy@dgtinternetmarketing.com prior to publication of the weekly edition. This will make sure that we present your information the way you wish and not our sometimes mangled interpretation of your verbal presentation. |
An Opportunity – Advertise in The Wheel
Advertise your business or profession in The Wheel this Rotary year. These ads will take the format of a business card and will be approximately 2 ½” by 1". Cost will be $300 for a Rotary year – a very reasonable cost to get your name in front of an elite group every week and make a contribution to our club at the same time. Space will be limited and is available on a first come first served basis. Please contact Graham Tweedy for details.
