Vida Blue - Baseball Pitcher Great

Inside Baseball

Two standing ovations greeted Southpaw power pitcher, six time all-star, ‘71 Cy Young & MVP, and three times World Series Champion Vida Blue.  He brought the heat to our club and reminisced about his long career, run-ins with Coach “Bear” Bryant, and the importance of organizations like the Boy Scouts of America and Rotary to help make the imperfect world a better place.

Mr. Blue reminded us to go as “hard as we can as long as we can”. Vida was kind enough to stay after the meeting for photographs and sign programs or memorabilia for any who wanted to chat with him.

Another great program for Stockton Rotary!

Vida Blue was introduced by Jerry Smith
